We don't stigmatise illness

Statistics released by the Samaritans show that suicide is much more common amongst men than women, and a number of campaigns currently exist to encourage men to open up about mental health difficulties. By losing some of the stigma around men’s mental health, it is hoped that men will seek help from psychiatrists when they are showing symptoms of depression or having suicidal thoughts. A psychiatrist can make a diagnosis of a mental illness and prescribe medication, as well as psychological treatment, for mental health conditions.
